I purchased this cage so that my two budgies would have room to fly around inside. It is about twice the size of their first cage and they are settling in to it very nicely. Now, about the assembly instructions, they are next to useless. Assembling the stand a cage is fairly straightforward however I am going to take a couple of minutes to help new purchasers around some pitfalls. When assembling the stand I found putting the bars in place for the top looks much better with the flat bracket part with the bolt holes on the back side of the legs. The assembly picture looks like it should be on the outside. For the cage part the four panels are screwed together but the front panel with the door is the only one that is obvious as to which way around it goes. The side panels need to be installed with the things that look like handles on the bottom on the inside. They are actually slides that the large plastic tray slide on. Also the end doors need to open out. The back panel is a little trickier. The one thing that tells you the difference between the inside and the outside is the small brass plugs at the bottom that the screws go in to for the seed catcher. They must be on the outside. I put the cage together with all of the screws quite loose which allowed me to adjust parts to line up the holes. Once all of the screws where in place I went around and tightened all of them. Overall this is a very well built cage and it is very well packaged. One final comment. I am 75 and disabled. I cannot stand easily or for very long. I was able to assemble 95% of this unit sitting down.
On a scale of 10 for assembly I'll give this a 7/10 because the seeds guard parts is hard to install and there's no holes to the cage to screw the left and right guards so is all about fitting it in place as much as you can then use a plyer to bend the metal together to tighten it. Also the side doors for food or nestbox is hard to open once closed so I had to diy modified it into a sliding door for easy access. In my opinion the seeds guard looks nice on the cage but it's not that useful in catching the seeds cause the guard not wide enough. Overall the cage looks nice with good quality metal for the price it worth it.
I love my cages!! bought 2 white ones, great cages, solid and easy to put up. Highly recommend
I cannot say enough good about this cage! It is big, it has a sturdy stand that the cage can be taken off of and the wheels move smoothly, it is easy to clean and looks nice in my apartment. My tiel and rosy bourke love it as well and it would house another small parrot or 2 comfortably with them (which is the plan!) It comes in 2 colour options and l personally love the white.
I will be ordering another white one for my zebra finches because I love it so much! Highly recommend!
This is a solid, really nice quality cage with a secure latch. The seed guard works well for reducing the mess that drops on the floor when birds are loose on the top The bottom pan and floor grille slides in and out smoothly. The storage tray on the bottom is big enough to store your various bird supplies and food. I like this cage better than my similar cage by Prevue Pet Products (which is a bit flimsier and doesn't have the very important seed guard). I recommend snapping the side doors closed with a clip so there's no chance a clever strong bird can get out. This cage is highly recommended! I will be buying another. FYI: The white colour option is actually more of a light grey, not white. I actually prefer it to pure white since it shows less dirt and blends in better with most decor. Would love to see this exact cage offered in an even larger size some day.
